Job Description
GemPool, Ireland’s leading IT recruitment agency, is excited to partner with a fast-growing SaaS company to hire a mid-to-senior level Ruby on Rails Engineer.
This is a chance to join a scaling team building software that makes a real impact helping communities, schools, and facilities run better and connect more people with sport and activity.
The Role
We’re seeking a Product Engineer with a strong Ruby on Rails background who’s passionate about solving real problems for real people.
This is primarily an individual contributor role, but with a clear path to grow into leadership if that’s your goal.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Planning and building improvements, new features, and new product initiatives for the core Rails application
- Contributing to product planning from conception—discovery, UI/UX, and technical design decisions
- Ensuring high technical standards across code quality, testing, performance, and security
- Participating in code reviews and contributing to technical decision-making processes
- Debugging and resolving issues as they arise
What We’re Looking For
- 6+ years’ experience building full-stack web applications with modern frameworks & relational databases (at least 2 years with Ruby on Rails)
- Strong product mindset with attention to detail
- Eager to learn, grow, and contribute to a high-performing team
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats and working independently
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or similar is a plus (not required)
- A passion for Ruby on Rails (and sport is a bonus!)
Please only apply if you are based in Ireland. This client does not provide sponsorship to candidates.
